Timothy Clopp, a member of Boy Scout Troop 104 in El Cerrito, earned his Eagle Scout rank and was honored for earning the program’s highest honor at a ceremony Jan. 9 at Camp Herms.
For his Eagle Scout project, Clopp organized and led a volunteer team that replaced old and broken markers at storm drains with new aluminum “No Dumping, Drains to Bay” medallions. The project covered about one-fifth of the city’s storm drain openings.
Clopp joined Troop 104 in 2004 and served as patrol leader and senior assistant patrol leader. During his Scouting career, he especially enjoyed camping and hiking and summer stays at Camp Wolfeboro.
Clopp is a 2011 graduate of Albany High School and now studies mechanical engineering at UC Merced.
